Wedding Reception Decorations – Guidelines To Follow

Before you decide on your wedding reception decorations, you have to do some planning. Here are some ideas to get you started.

Does your wedding have a theme? Theme weddings can be much fun for all participants. Some popular themes are black and white Valentine's Day, Garden Party, and west, the beach and medieval.

What is your budget and how many people are you? The number of customers and the amount of money you spend will have a big impact on how your decorations will be extravagant. Keep in mind that while table decorations and favors seem inexpensive, quickly add the totals when you have a large number of guests.

Where are you holding your reception? Your choice of venue has much to do with your deciding decorations. A country club wedding will be decorated much differently from a barbecue on the beach.

If you choose not to use a theme for your wedding, you must choose a color or two to concentrate. Many brides find a source of inspiration flower catalogs or you can browse through wedding magazines and take note of color combinations that attract the eye.

Here is an example of how a wife for her decor informal Valentine's Day wedding. The reception took place in a large Victorian house. The dining room is decorated with bouquets of red heart-shaped mylar balloons with alternating red and white ribbons. The balloons were held up a weighted base metal covered in red tissue paper.

On the walls were dried flowers purchased from a garden catalog. What is beautiful about this idea is the wife was able to keep the decorations after marriage and use in its new home.

One of my friends helped a young married set up its very low budget wedding reception in a small Mexican restaurant. They started fishing with white tablecloths and paper to cover the tables. Then they added a clear glass bowl in the middle of each table with 4 or 5 candles floating fishing. The effect was really pretty.

Another more fun at this reception was the disposable camera that was placed on each table. The idea was for customers to use the camera to take shots and frank then let the camera on the table at the end of the evening. Once returned from their honeymoon, the newlyweds had a great time looking through all the casual photos of friends and family took.

Many of the items you need to decorate can be found at discount stores, craft stores and online. Once you choose your theme and your colors, you're ready to go. Plan in advance and your wedding reception decorations will be fantastic!
